KOLKATA: The incidents of cybercrime-related events are on the rise across the country and multiple eminent personalities and organisations have fallen victim to the different types of online offences. The latest organisation to be targeted by cybercriminals is the All India Trinamool Congress with their official handle on the popular microblogging website Twitter being renamed to “Yuga Labs”.

Trinamool Congress leader and member of the Indian Parliament, Derek O'Brien confirmed the incident. He also informed that the party has taken up the problem with the staff of Twitter and the organisation assured appropriate action at the earliest possible time.

"The official Twitter handle of the All India Trinamool Congress has been compromised. We are in touch with officials from Twitter who are working to rectify the issue. They have assured us of prompt action," mentioned Derek O’Brien.

The head of the Trinamool Congress party as well as chief minister of the state of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee is yet to give any official comment regarding this incident.

However, it is interesting to note that no defacing or untoward comments or posts have been made. The previous posts also seem to be intact on the official handle except for changing the name and the logo of the party.

"#DidirSurakshaKawach is a mammoth effort at securing basic sustenance for every resident in Bengal, irrespective of age, gender, caste or religion.

To achieve state-wide inclusive growth & expand welfare cover, Didir Doots are generating awareness across households," mentions the last tweet from the account.
