A man who allegedly shot dead a school teacher in Uttar Pradesh was beaten to death in the presence of policemen this morning

Guwahati: A man who allegedly shot dead a school teacher in Uttar Pradesh was beaten to death in the presence of police personnel Monday morning. A mob was seen using sticks to beat the man in a video that emerged after the incident that occurred in Kushinagar in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

In the shocking clips that have surfaced online, several policemen in riot gear were present and some even tried to stop the attack, but the members of the mob kept thrashing the victim even after his body had stopped moving. The man's head came under severe attack and the ground was splattered with his blood by the time the mob was done.

The man was from Gorakhpur and had come to the village seeking Sudhir Kumar Singh, the murdered teacher. The man, who rode in on a scooter, claimed to be his brother's friend.

Police said that he had tea while waiting for Singh, who was apparently taking a bath. As soon as Singh came out, he took out his father's gun and killed the teacher.

After killing the teacher, the shooter tried to escape, but when he saw a crowd outside the house, he climbed the terrace and firing shots, asked villagers to keep away.

Soon after, a police team followed him to the terrace but the man escaped and was caught by a crowd, which started attacking him. Soon, someone called the police and a team arrived on the spot, Thereafter, the cops climbed the terrace and asked him to surrender. After an exchange of fire, the man climbed down from the terrace and tried to bolt himself inside a room.

However, a crowd soon pounced on him and started clobbering him mercilessly. "He was beaten so much he died," said Vinod Kumar Mishra, police chief of the district.
