UP Police Arrests 3 for Pelting Stones at Vande Bharat Express After it Mows Down Their Goats

AYODHYA: A team from Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested three men for reportedly pelting stones at the Vande Bharat Express Train that passes through the region. The men had reportedly resorted to damaging the train after it ran over his goats a few days back.

The Senior Superintendent of Police for Ayodhya, RK Nayyar mentioned that during the investigation of the damages to the flagship train, it was found that the Vande Bharat Express train had run over a herd of goad while they were grazing on the tracks. These animals belonged to one Nanhu Paswan. Following the incident, Nanhu Paswan along with his associates tried to damage the train by pelting stones at it. The police officer also informed that they had arrested Nanhu Paswan and his sons Ajay and Vijay in connection to the incident.

The Inspector of the Railway Protection Force, Sonu Kumar Singh mentioned that the windowpanes of two coaches of the Vande Bharat Express train were partially damaged as it passed through the Sohawal region under Raunahi Police Station of Ayodhya at around 9 AM on Tuesday. The information regarding the incident was passed to the Ayodhya Cantt position of the Railway Protection Force and the train continued its journey towards Lucknow.

It is important to note that this semi-high-speed train connects Gorakhpur and Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This train was recently flagged off by the prime minister on July 7.

A few days ago, another recently inaugurated Vande Bharat Express Train, suffered damage to its front panel after hitting a cow on the track. The incident took place for the New Jalpaiguri - Guwahati Vande Bharat Express train near the Nalbari Railway station on the evening of last Saturday. No people were injured during the incident.
