Jammu: The security forces now have a new problem to tackle in Jammu and Kashmir as weapons are now being dropped with the help of China-made drones in the Union Territory. The Director General of Police (DGP) of J&K Dilbag Singh said that these weapons are being dropped for use by the militant groups.

The new strategy is employed by Pakistan. Singh said, "Dropping weapons by drones is a new strategy by Pakistan and we have taken strict measures to counter this. We have seen a lot of consignments of weapons being dropped like AK47, MO4, pistols, and grenades and we have busted all these attempts."

Over the last few months, the security forces have recovered a huge amount of arms and ammunitions at various places near the border. They believe these weapons were dropped by using specially designed drones. Along with the weapons, drugs were also dropped in the border areas with the help of these specialized drones.

As informed by Dilbag Singh, they have also recovered a carbine, which is made in China. The militants have been using Chinese star pistols for quite some time now. The Chinese company, Norinco manufactured some Type 97 NSR rifles that were also recovered in the valley. Chinese soldiers predominantly use this weapon and are also found in Pakistan.

The vigilance has been stepped up along the Line of Control (LoC) and the borders of India with Pakistan, the security forces informed.
