COVID Vaccination Slot Finder Websites: As people above 18 years of age can now register for vaccination against COVID-19 by using the CoWIN platform or Aarogya Setu app, people across the country have been struggling to book appointments on the CoWIN website for lack of slots.
To help people get appointments, some Indian researchers and developers have come up with websites and apps that notify a user when slots open up. These websites use
CoWIN's open API (application programming interface) and aim to deliver relevant and timely information on vaccine availability, vaccination centres, and the date and time of the vaccination drive.
Website Helping Booking Covid Vaccine Appointment
Here are some of the sites that help users for booking appointments...
1. Findmyvaccine.in: This platform helps users look for vaccine availability at a particular centre. Users will have to enter just their mobile number on the website, the system will notify the registrant with the right information. Developed by Bangalore-based Verloop.io, Findmyvaccine.in also sends a quick notification via WhatsApp about the vaccine available for the location the user desires.
2.
Helpmecovid.com: Internet researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia has developed a website, which users can look for real-time vaccine availability in their area. Users need to click on their state and select their district to check for real-time vaccine availability. Users can also directly book appointments from the website. Rajaharia said, "After a user books an appointment, the website redirects him/her to the CoWIN portal. The website uses CoWin's API. Most importantly, if the CoWIN server crashes, it won't affect helpmecovid.com." In order to be notified about the vaccine availability, the user needs to enter their e-mail address and phone number, noted Rajaharia.

The developer also shares links to Telegram groups on his Twitter account, named @BertyThomas, which contain the same slot-availability details. One major advantage of using this website is that it is privacy protected. Users don't need to provide any personal detail and can only mention the state and district information.
4. CoviAlerts.in: This website will help users get vaccine availability alerts on their phone in the fastest way. The site redirects users to a Telegram channel, which helps them track the status of vaccine availability in their area. There are different channels for different cities.
A total number of over 21.75 lakh 45+ people in Assam received the first dose of the vaccine and 6.08 lakh got the second dose. Even though the state government claims to have adequate stocks of vaccines with it, every vaccination centre has been witnessing overcrowding. People are seen waiting for 2-4 days to get vaccinated after the registration of their names. This has been reported from various parts of the country. Overcrowding in vaccination centres is an ideal condition under which the virus can spread fast. The shortage of manpower seems to have affected the vaccination drive in states.
