NEW DELHI: Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik taking on Twitter deny allegations that she had withdrawn from the ongoing wrestlers' protest against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. According to reports, Sakshi Malik, who met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other protesting wrestlers on Saturday, has distanced herself from the uproar and returned to her job at the Northern Railways.

Taking on twitter Sakshi Malik wrote, “This news is completely wrong. In the fight for justice, none of us has backed down, nor will we. Along with Satyagraha, I am fulfilling my responsibility in Railways. Our fight continues till justice is served. Please don't spread any wrong news.”

On the other hand, Bajrang Punia also denied the reports of protesting wrestlers joining their duty and wrote, “The news of withdrawing the movement is just a rumour. These news are being spread to harm us. We have neither retreated nor have we withdrawn the movement. The news of women wrestlers raising FIR is also false. The fight will continue till justice is served.”

Satyawrat Kadian, the husband of top wrestler Sakshi Malik, claimed Saturday's meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah was inconclusive since the wrestlers "did not get the reaction they wanted from the Home Minister."

Olympic medalist wrestler Bajrang Punia said on Sunday that wrestlers will soon have their own mahapanchayat, speaking at a gathering with former J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik and RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary.

A meeting was held late on Saturday at the residence of Home Minister Amit Shah and protesting wrestlers in Delhi, which lasted until late that night, as the wrestlers raised their demand for the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan.

According to reports, the Home Minister has informed the wrestlers that the process is being followed, that the law will run its course, and that Brij Bhushan will not be given an unfair advantage because he is a BJP MP.
