India International Science Festival Flags off in Bhopal

Several scientists and technologists of international fame will be participating and sharing their knowledge as well as experiences with the students and enthusiasts.

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Union Minster Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated India International Science Festival 2023 in Bhopal on Saturday in the presence of several other eminent guests and participants. This year's event has been themed "Marching towards Amrit Kaal with Science Technology and Innovation".

Speaking to the audience, the CM called upon the students and entrepreneurs of the state to develop a new zeal for innovation and creativity. He mentioned 2600 startups have come up in his state in the last year and aim to take the state and country into a new level of growth.

Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh, in his speech, mentioned that India is preparing for a great leap in the sector of quantum tech which will define the future of science with practical solutions to several of the problems of modern-day.

Mentioning the coinciding of the India International Science Festival with the assumption of the presidency of G20, he called it a sign of the multidimensional growth of the country as well a recognition of its intellectual capabilities. He also mentioned India's growth in the space sector, clean energy sector, drone technology and several other fields.

The increase in public-private partnerships has enabled the creation as well as experimentation and implementation in different fields. Several deep-space brands of the country are now engaged in the space sector in different verticals including satellite building, launching and space debris management along with several others. Hence, the technology and innovation sector is set to become the torchbearers for the Indian economy when the country will celebrate its 100th Independence Day in 2027.

The minister of Science and Technology of Madhya Pradesh Om Prakash Sakhlecha told that 15 important events will be organised in this four-day science festival. A Students' Science Village has been set up to house 2500 students for participation as well as proper exposure. A Mega Startup Expo has also been organised as part of this event.
