Tezpur, April 9: The Director General of Border Roads, Lt General Harpal Singh, AVSM, VSM arrived on Sunday on a four-day visit to Project Vartak, Tezpur. This is his first tour programme to Projects under BRO after taking over the assignment of DGBR on March 28 from Lt General S K Srivastav. During his visit programme, the General Officer will visit various under construction works of 763 BRTF, 42 BRTF and 14 BRTF under Project Vartak. He is scheduled to inspect the works by road as well as by helicopter from different places in west Aruchal Pradesh.
Vartak Chief Engineer K P Purushothaman and EBW Chief Engineer Birendra Kumar received Lt General Harpal Singh. The DGBR took a briefing from Chief Engineer Vartak in respect of various under construction works on Monday afternoon at HQ Vartak after a brief introduction of all officers. The DGBR is scheduled to visit EBW on April 11 on the last day of his tour while returning to Delhi via Guwahati. He is scheduled to make a brief stopover at the Additiol DGBR office in Guwahati, officials sources said.
