SILCHAR,June 26: Eid–ul–Fitr has been celebrated across Barak Valley with joy and enthusiasm. Muslims celebrated Eid–ul–Fitr, which is the celebration of peace and happiness, across the valley with great enthusiasm on Monday.
Muslims from all occupations were seen dressed in new clothes, visiting the mosques to attend Eid prayers and exchanging greetings of ‘Eid Mubarak’ with fellow Muslims. Eid prayers began at 8.30 am Itakhola Idgah Maidan was conducted by Imam Maula Shabbir Ahmed Laskar of Silchar Bara Masjid. Maula Nurul Haque Talukdar, principal, Silchar Alia Madrasa, conducted Eid prayers at Tikarbasti Idgha, College and Maula Sakir Ahmed Laskar at Kakpur Idgha.
It was clear from the speeches of Maula Shabbir Ahmed Laskar, Maula Sakir Ahmed Laskar terrorists have no religion, and that terrorism has nothing to do with it. Emphasis was laid on world peace, ideals of humanity, amity, unity and abjuring all sorts of violence. It should be mentioned here that Eid–ul–Fitr is a time of concentrated worship, reading of the Holy Quran and purifying one’s soul. On this day, prayers are being offered for health and happiness, peace and prosperity. It is festival of peace and harmony among the communities. In addition to this, people forget all acrimony and ill will against one another on this day.
