Dibrugarh, May 30: The students of the Salt Brook Academy (SBA) here in the district, as expected, have struck the success chord once again by securing 13 rank positions in Arts, Science and Commerce streams, in the Assam Higher Secondary Council (HS) examition, results of which were declared on Tuesday. The students this year too brought laurels to their alma mater by getting seven positions in Science, five in Arts and one in Commerce stream and thereby added another feather to the Academy's continued accomplishment ratio.
In the Science stream, Mridupawan Das with 480 marks and with six letters, secured the 3rd position, while Kaustabhmoni Hazarika with 477 marks and six letters achieved the 6th position in the Higher Secondary exam. Similarly, Mayank Prasad with 476 marks and letters in five subjects, secured the 7th position and Shirsha Majumdar with a total marks of 475 with 6 letters secured the 8th position. Nistha Borgohain with 473 marks and 6 letters secured the 9th position. Likewise, i Hatiboruah and Niki Baruah with 472 marks each and letters in 6 subjects, are the 10th position holders from Salt Brook Academy.
Under the Arts stream too, the students of SBA came out with flying colors with Abhilasha Borbora and Dipika Hazarika getting 473 marks each and securing the 5th position in the Higher Secondary examition. Likewise, the 6th position was secured by Aditi Dutta of SBA with a total marks of 472. Correspondingly, two other students of SBA, Bancha Rajkumari with 469 marks and Arpita Sinha with 469 marks, respectively, secured the 9th position in the HS examition.
In the Commerce stream too, SBA marked its triumph as Satyam Fogla with 462 marks and letter marks in 5 subjects secured the 7th position and is the only student from the district to achieve the feat.
Notably, a total of 132 students appeared in the Science stream, 93 passed, out of which 23 secured first division, 56 secured second division and 13 students secured third division. The pass percentage of the total students is 70.45 per cent.
In the Arts stream, a total of 10 students secured first division, 47 students secured second division and 85 students secured third division.
The highest mark achievers in the State from SBA are Mayuri Hazarika who secured 99 marks in Assamese, Abhilasha Borobora, Swagata Bhuyan and Drishti Hazarika with 98 marks in Psychology , Mridupwan Das and Subhashish Chakr borty scored 99 marks in Mathematics and i Hatiboruah secured the highest mark of 98 in Physics in the State.
The other highest mark achievers from the district are Suya Boruah of Rameswar Higher Secondary School who secured 99 marks in Assamese and History in the entire State. Similarly, Shilpa Lodh from Moran College scored 98 marks in Biotechnology, and Dipu Chetri from Lahowal Junior College secured 80, the highest mark in Entrepreneurship Development.
Under the Arts Streams a total of 7,367 students appeared in the entire district, while 1,020 secured first division, 2,004 secured second division and 3,139 students secured third division. A total of 6,163 students passed and the pass percentage is 83.66 per cent.
Under the Science stream, a total number of 1,857 students appeared, 1,176 secured first division, 453 secured second division and 82 secured third division. A total of 1,711 students passed in the district and the pass percentage is 92.14 per cent.
In the Commerce stream, a total number of 1,040 students appeared, 249 secured first division, 284 secured second division and 342 students secured third division. A total number of 875 students passed in the district and their pass percentage is 84.13 per cent.
