Itanagar, Apr 16: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has identified six districts in Arunachal Pradesh for the implementation of the Laqshya programme. This was informed by State Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) Tapasya Raghav during an orientation workshop on Laqshya, which was held at the banquet hall here on Sunday, an official communiqué stated on Monday.
“NGOs that are experts in this field will be roped in for implementing the programme in the State,” Raghav said.
She also urged the districts to ensure complete immunization of all the left-out children under the Special Intensified Mission Indradhanush by December 2018.
The Laqshya programme, which was launched in December 2017, aims at improving the quality of care for pregnant women in labour rooms, maternity operation theatres, obstetrics intensive care units and high dependency units, said resource person Dr Mahtab Singh of the programme management unit of the health and family welfare ministry.
Another resource person Anup J Basistha explained the facets like baseline assessment, reporting and monitoring mechanism for Laqshya, and facility level implementation of the programme.
Family Welfare Director Dr K Lego, Joint Director of Family Welfare Dr S Bhattacharjee, medical officers and DRCHOs of all the districts, and senior officials of the NHM mission directorate and the family welfare directorate attended the workshop, which was organized by the State Health Society.
