193 people fined for not wearing face mask in public area of Roing town

A total of 193 people were fined Rs 500 each for violating the regulation of not wearing face masks in the public areas of Roing town on Friday.

ROING: A total of 193 people were fined Rs 500 each for violating the regulation of not wearing face masks in the public areas of Roing town on Friday.

The checking and penalty drive to fine people not following the regulation of mandatory wearing of face masks in public places was conducted in the market areas by the district executive magistrate.

The district executive magistrate formed a team of 12 and placed them at various locations of the market areas to check shopkeepers and public who flouted the rules. "Any one flouting the rules will be fined during the regular penalty drives that will be conducted in the future," executive magistrate informed.

The district administration has earlier issued an order for mandatorily wearing of face masks while out in public to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the district.
