2 get life Imprisonment for killing bank cashier in Arunachal Pradesh

PASIGHAT: The East Siang District Sessions court has convicted and sentenced Subash Mondal and Ramesh Yadav to undergo life Imprisonment for committing the planned murder of one Bomge Nyori.

Nyori served as a cashier of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB), Mebo Branch. The case is of February 7, 2018, when both accused entered the bank in the evening hours with an intention to commit murder and then rob the bank.

The East Siang District Sessions Judge Budi Habung, in his verdict, convicted Subash alias Haradhan Mondal and Ramesh Yadav to undergo life imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 each. In default of payment of fine, each convict shall further undergo simple imprisonment for six months for the offences u/s 120-B r/w 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier this year, the District Sessions Judge has also convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment with fine four accused persons in Kaying Police Station case 10/2012, U/S 302/34 IPC, R/W section 27 (1) Arms for offence u/s 120B/302/34 IPC r/w 25/27 (1) of Arms Act.

The Session Judge also convicted and sentenced to life Imprisonment to one accused person in Yingkiong PS C. No. 57/06, U/S 302/307/326 IPC (State-Vs- Tayum Bikku) for offence u/s 302/326 IPC.

On being asked, Special Public Prosecutor, POCSO Act, advocate Sanjay Taye informed that the Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge of POCSO, East Siang district, has also convicted and sentenced seven accused persons in seven sexual offences cases, including six accused persons for offence under POCSO Act and sentenced them to rigorous imprisonment ranging from three years to seven years with fine.
