ITANAGAR: The Superintendent of Police (SP), SIC, Anant Mittal said on Tuesday that the police has arrested two more persons in connection with the question paper leakage in Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) examination, 2017 and another examination.
Speaking to the media, Mittal informed that as of now 22 people have been arrested by the SIC as per the interrogation and substantial evidence related to the case related to cash-for-jobs scam registered in the SIC.
He said that on November 27 and 28 last, the police arrested Assistant Engineer (AE) of PWD, Liromoba, Yiter Raksab, who was selected through the APPSC examination in 2019. Also, one Junior Engineer (JE) of PHE &WS, Pangin, Mopin Sora was arrested.
Mittal also disclosed that, SIC is investigating the cash-for-jobs scam in APPSC since from 2014 for every examination, whereas the CBI is only investigating the AE exam paper leakage scam.
"However, the State Government has already recommended a CBI probe into the other examination of the APPSC. All complaints related to other various exams conducted by the APPSC from 2014 onwards have been amalgamated with the instant case for detailed investigation," he said.
Earlier on November 18, SIC also arrested one Ashiram Mibang (59) from Boleng in connection with the same case, he added.
He said the investigation into the paper leakage is ongoing, and all facets of the case are being investigated in detail.
"All legal formalities and norms of professionalism are being maintained during the investigation. SIC is committed to ensuring justice for the aggrieved aspirants," the SP added.
