2 new Covid cases recorded in Arunachal Pradesh

The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 64,477 on Thursday after two more people tested positive for the infection

ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 64,477 on Thursday after two more people tested positive for the infection, a senior Health Department official said here.

The State had on Wednesday recorded four fresh COVID-19 cases.

The new cases were reported from Anjaw and Lower Subansiri district, he said, adding that one person has developed COVID-19 symptoms.

The death toll in the State remained at 296 as no fatality was reported in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

As many as 64,144 people have recuperated from the disease thus far in the State, including 15 on Wednesday, the official said.

The recovery rate marginally improved to 99.48 per cent from 99.46 per cent on Wednesday.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 37 active cases.

The Capital Complex region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 18, followed by Anjaw at 4, three each at West Kameng and Upper Siang and two at Tawang district respectively, the SSO said.
