ITANAGAR: At least 21 more persons tested COVID-19 positive in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the State's tally to 16,574 in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 14 infected patients were cured of the disease on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries in the State to 16,278, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa on Thursday.

The State now has 241 active COVID-19 cases while 55 others have succumbed to the infection so far. The fatality ratio currently stands at 0.33 per cent. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.21 per cent. The positivity rate is at 1.79 per cent.

Of the fresh cases, five were reported from the Capital Complex region; four from Anjaw district;0 three each from East Siang and Lower Dibang Valley; two from Longding; and one each from West Kameng, Lohit, Tawang and West Siang.

While 18 fresh infections were detected through Rapid Antigen Tests, 0two were found through the TrueNAT method and one through RT-PCR. Barring two, all the new patients were asymptomatic.
