ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) has blamed the State Government for poor health and water facilities that led to the death of 12 minors in Ponkong and Longliang villages of the Tirap district due to diarrhoea .

Speaking to the media, AAPSU president Tana Dozi Tara slammed the State Government for its failure to provide basic amenities to the poor villagers.

AAPSU condemned the State Government's policies and blamed it for the death of 12 innocent children. "This is the complete failure of the Heath Department and we also blame the district administration and local MLA for their negligence," Dozi said.

"There are many schemes like 'Jal Jeevan Mission " to provide water facilities but sad to say that till now people of villages like Longliang and Pongkong are deprived of such facilities. Even the PHED Department has failed to provide potable water to the common public," said Dozi, adding, "AAPSU take this incident very seriously and urges the State Government to immediately provide basic facilities to the villagers and also in every school."

The AAPSU president also urged the Chief Minister and Health Minister to establish health facilities in the interior areas of the State. "In this era of digital India, not having basic facilities for health and drinking water is shameful and complete negligence. The State Government should immediately look into the matter and provide the required compensation to the victims," stated Dozi.
