ITANAGAR: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) on Monday demanded that Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who also holds the portfolio of Finance & Planning Department, resigns on moral ground at the earliest.

The ANYA alleged that the minister has been misleading the people of State citing false budget in the last Assembly session. The union said that an immediate inquiry should be initiated against the minister for the mismanagement of government funds.

Addressing media persons here, ANYA president, Byabang Joram said that the union demands that the State government comes out with a white paper on current financial status of the State, the highway compensation scandal and the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) job scam within June 24.

"Failing to fulfill our demands, the union will go for a democratic movement and also expose the truth and bring it to the public domain," Joram said while adding that the misuse of public money by an irresponsible government exchequer is harassing the public in the name of schemes as well as threatening the State's financial growth.

He said that the minister (Chowna Mein) should make the present financial status of the State public. The people should know where the public money has been used and who have been benefited.
