ITANAGAR: Reacting to the allegation of illegalities against Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB) chairman Jalley Sonam by the Arunachal Law Students' Union (ALSU), THE APB&OCWWB members has rubbished all the allegations as "baseless".

APB&OCWWB member Kenkar Yomcha on Monday said that the students' union has no jurisdiction over the board or to interfere over its functioning, and said that it should refrain from leveling baseless allegations against its Chairman. Addressing the media at the Arunachal Press Club here, Yomcha, however couldn't specifically clarify on the allegations leveled against the APB&OCWWB Chairman, and said that the Board chairman is only the signing authority while all recommendations and approvals are forwarded by the State government and the Secretary concerned.

He added that proper clarifications against the APB&OCWWB Chairman will soon be provided by the Secretary concerned with documentary evidences.

Regarding the purchase of an infrastructure amounting to about Rs six crores for establishment of the APB& OCWWB head office here whereas the budgetary allocation was for about Rs four crores, Yomcha informed that the additional fund of Rs two crore was approved by the State government after the Board members recommended for it in a meeting. He added that since the recurring expenses of the Board on renting office infrastructures was too high, it was but logical to establish its own permanent office.
