APSCPCR Investigates Death Of Child In School

The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) has taken suo moto cognizance of the alleged food poisoning case in Christ Care Public School at Yangte in the Kra Daadi district of Arunachal Pradesh on March 28 last.

As reported, more than 40 students suffered from headache, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and vomiting due to food poisoning, which led to the death of one girl child.

The Commission has constituted a two-member committee, comprising APSCPCR members Yahung Tekseng and Ngurang Achung.

The members visited Palin and Yangte on April 5 and 6 last and conducted an inquiry into the case and interacted with the school staff, parents, students, medical officer and investigating officer of the case.

The committee members were accompanied by Palin Child Development Programme Officer (CDPO) S Lego, legal-cum-probation officer (DCPU) L Maru Tayuk.

The Commission members also inspected the school building along with Yangte Circle Officer (CO) Biri Taha, a communiqué from APSCPCR Chairperson Gumri Ringu said here on Thursday.
