Arms, Ammunition, Explosives Recovered In Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang District

One AK-56 rifle with four rounds of ammunition, two SBML guns, one point 22 pistols with three rounds of ammunition, and a bottle containing suspected explosives from the area.

Changlang: In a major development, the Indian Army on Tuesday said that it has recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district.

As per reports, 14 Rajput Regiment recovered these arms and ammunition from the jungle area of Phinbiro-I under Manmao police station on Monday suspected to be hidden by a proscribed outfit organisation.

''Acting on a tip-off, troops of the 14 Rajput Regiment had launched the operation and recovered the arms and ammunition from the jungle area,'' a senior police official was quoted as saying by the media.

The recovered items include one AK-56 rifle with four rounds of ammunition, two SBML guns, one point 22 pistol with three rounds of ammunition, and a bottle containing suspected explosives from the area.

Meanwhile, the Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles on Sunday seized a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives in Mizoram.

Reportedly, four people were also nabbed in the operation that was carried out near Kelssih village of Aizwal district.
