ITANAGAR: Election Commissioner of India Arun Goel on Monday convened a meeting with the District Electoral Officer (DEO) of the Namsai district, CR Khampa and other officials to review election matters of the district.
The DEO gave a presentation on the overview of election matters of the district, official sources informed.
While acknowledging the hard work put in by everyone involved in making the district number one in the State in Aadhar linkage with electoral data with 83.83 per cent, Goel advised the officers to ensure that the details of EPIC and Aadhar completely match, so as to avoid any future complications when the Central portal for Aadhar linkage is turned on.
To make any necessary changes due to the discrepancy, he advised them to update Form 8 during special summary revision and quarterly continuous updation of E-Roll. The Election Commissioner also took stock of problems and glitches being faced in the ERO net and NVSP portal and assured to look for provisions for its early solution. Appreciating the various methods of SVEEP activities being carried out in the district, Goel said that none in the age group of 18-21 years should be left out in the E-Roll and that every possible help should be extended to them.
Later, Goel also visited Lathao A and Lathao B polling stations and interacted with BLOs, presiding officers, polling officers, voters, panchayat leaders, gaon burahs of the area, the sources added.
