MECHUKA: Speaker of Arunachal Legislative Assembly PD Sona on Sunday visited Targelling village near Mechukha in Shi-Yomi district, and attended a public meeting there. Addressing the gathering, Sona assured to look into the three-point memorandum submitted by the villagers which include construction of an approach road, a bridge and initiation of flood control measures.
PD Sona, however, reiterated that there shouldn’t be any controversy when the projects take off. He asked them to solve any issues related to land amicably so that developmental works are not hampered.
Earlier, the residents of Targelling while submitting their memorandum informed the Speaker of the hardships faced by the locals due to absence of proper road connectivity.
Later, the Speaker visited the old Gompa and sought blessings and also took stock of the road which was damaged during the monsoon period. He directed the contractor to immediately restore the road for free flow of tourists to the area.
