Arunachal BJP president Biyuram Wahge tests COVID positive

Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Biyuram Wahge has tested positive for COVID-19.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Biyuram Wahge has tested positive for COVID-19. Wahge, who also represents the Pakke Kesang Assembly constituency of the State, said he has been following all instructions as advised by the doctors since he was tested positive of the virus on Wednesday. "On getting initial symptoms of COVID-19, I took the Rapid Antigen Test on Wednesday for the safety and security of my family, friends and society as a whole, and I have tested positive for coronavirus," Wahge said while adding that he is following all the necessary instruction advised by doctors. The State BJP president also requested his associates who came in his contact recently to get themselves tested for the virus. Wahge is the fifth legislator from Arunachal Pradesh to test positive for Covid-19 as state BJP general secretary and Namsai MLA Zingnu Namchoom had tested positive for the virus on Tuesday. Following Namchoom's announcement of being COVID-19 positive, the BJP has closed the State party office till September 16 for sanitisation. Besides Wahge and Namchoom, the other MLAs to have tested COVID-19 positive are education minister and Yachuli MLA Taba Tedir, Lekang MLA Jummon Ete Deori and Kalaktang MLA Dorjee Wangdi Kharma.
