ITANAGAR: The state BJP spokesperson, Techi Necha, condemned and rejected the allegations made by the state Congress party on the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the APPSC case.

Speaking to the reporters at the BJP state headquarters here on Wednesday, Techi Necha said that the BJP government led by Chief Minister Pema KHandu is trying every possible means to resolve the APPSC paper leakage case in the state. He said that all 13 points of the charter of demands placed by the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) are almost resolved.

Now the case is being investigated by the CBI, and the state government can’t interfere in the investigation process.

He said that the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 2014, was created by the then-state Congress government headed by the then Chief Minister Nabam Tuki to provide more effective prevention of certain unlawful activities of individuals and associations, for dealing with terrorist activities, and for matters connected therewith.

"The present government of the state is only implementing the Act through district administration as per the provisions of the Act. Moreover, the 72-hour bandh call by civil societies is illegal and unconstitutional in a democratic country, as declared by the Supreme Court of India," he said.

Necha said that the Bandh caller has been detained under the same Act.

He further said that such calls infringe on the fundamental rights of others and have a detrimental effect on the peace and tranquility of society. Therefore, appealed to the bandh callers to refrain from their planned bandh call and instead opt for debate, peaceful rallies, dharna, and hunger strikes.

Additionally, he added, "Chief Minister Pema Khandu's people-friendly government is always available for discussion at any time."
