CM Pema Khandu rides ATV to promote tourism along with Padyatra

GUWAHATI: In yet another effort to promote Arunachal tourism, Chief Minister Pema Khandu rode an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) from Pankang Teng Tso Lake to Mago village along Indo-China border in Tawang district on Monday.

He drove the road through a journey covering 107-km to reach highest altitude of 15,600 feet.

Sharing few pictures of his off-roading, Khandu wrote on his Facebook handle, “Off-roading at 15,600 feet. A 107-km ride from #PTSOLake to #Mago in Tawang district near the India -Tibet/China border.”

Accompanied by Union MoS (Ind) for Sports Kiren Rijiju, the dynamic CM also led an 18km ‘padyatra’ from Mago to Thingbu village.

Sharing a video on his twitter handle, Rijiju wrote, “I captured this video while Chief Minister @PemaKhanduBJP ji was driving ATV Polaris crossing above 16,000 feet from PT Tso to Mago in Tawang District, Arunachal Pradesh to meet the Villagers and Jawans and to celebrate Diwali!” he wrote.

The padyatra was organised by Mukto Mandal of Arunachal BJP party and was flagged off as Gandhi Sankalp Yatra to reach out to rural masses.

It may be mentioned that, earlier, Pema Khandu, went on a bike ride to promote the state’s tourism.

He began his 122km long trip at around at 8am from Yingkiong Circuit House and reached Pasighat Airport at around 10.30 am.

Khandu also shared a video of his splendid ride in his twitter handle, where he is seen riding solo along with his security detail following him.

It is also to be mentioned that, the young CM is a fitness enthusiast and has taken a 10 km cycle ride along with Bollywood actor and tourism brand ambassador for Arunachal Pradesh, Salman Khan, on the occasion of Mechuka Adventure Festival.
