ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) demanded a CBI or ED inquiry into corruption charges against the Pema Khandu-led Government while reacting to the press statement of State Government's spokesperson.

Speaking to the reporters on Tuesday, APCC general secretary Gyamar Tana said, "There is no inquiry when BJP legislators are involved in rape cases, no inquiry when BJP MLAs are involved in corruption charges. Instead they pressed investigation agency like CBI or ED to harass Congress leaders alone. The BJP-led State Government is doing only drama to misguide the common public. We have a population of only around 14 lakh in the State, then how come the State Government procured masks and sanitizers worth Rs 24 crore? Moreover, the public didn't receive any such materials from the State Government during Covid-19," Tana said.

The APCC general secretary further said that the issue is not only about mismanagement of Rs 24 crore, but there are dozens of organizations that leveled serious corruption charges against the State Government. So, if the BJP is clean and believes in zero tolerance against corruption, then they should welcome a CBI or ED inquiry into all the charges, Tana added.
