ITANAGAR: Dr Tamar Paleng from the Dedicated COVID-19 Hospital (DCH), Chimpu has informed that Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Taba Tedir has been kept in the ICU and is being monitored closely as he is on regular medication and also hypertension.
Speaking to The Sentinel, Dr. Paleng informed that on September 4, they received a complaint from the Minister that he was suffering from fever. After further radiology findings, the Minister had to be immediately given treatment and later shifted to DCH.
He further said that with the consultation from the expert committee on COVID-19 management from TRIHMS, the anti-viral treatment was started. As of now, his (Tedir's) health is stable and is maintaining oxygen saturation in room air, he added.
"However, it is very early to say that the health condition of the minister is completely stable," he said, when questioned on the Minister's present health condition.
Tedir is the third lawmaker from the State to be tested COVID-19 positive after Lekang MLA, Jummon Ete Deori and Kalaktang MLA Dorjee Wangdi Kharma.
On the sidelines, Dr Tamar informed that though the DCH, which had formally started functioning, has not yet completed a month yet till September 6, 2020, there were 50 patients from various districts of the State. "We have successfully performed five Caesarean sections (CS) and two normal deliveries, which were referred from different districts to the DCH. At present there are 21 patients admitted in the DCH," he informed.
