ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik has extended his warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He expressed hope that the occasion will continue to inspire all to follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, who, throughout his life, stood for truth, non-violence, and peace. In his message, the governor said that Gandhi, through his exemplary life, motivated the entire community to embrace the essence of true humaneness. He believed in the power of collective action and encouraged people to actively participate in endeavours that would enhance the greater good of society. 'His philosophy reminds us that unity and empathy are essential for the progress and well-being of our nation," Parnaik said. He said that one of Gandhi's fundamental principles was the importance of cleanliness, which he considered next to godliness. "Today, in a world faced with numerous challenges, his words hold a deeper meaning. It is incumbent upon us to recognize our individual and collective responsibilities towards cleanliness. We must come together and make concerted efforts to ensure our homes, colonies, towns, and cities are clean, hygienic, and sanitized. By doing so, we not only honour Gandhi's legacy but also contribute to the well-being and health of our communities," Parnaik said. "On this special occasion, I join the people of Arunachal Pradesh in paying our homage to the Father of the Nation. As a befitting tribute to the Father of our Nation, let us spread the message of love, peace, and non-violence and promote cleanliness and the spirit of unity, tolerance, and harmony," the governor appealed in his message.
