ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra has expressed condolences at the unfortunate demise of Assam Rifles jawan Longdon Wangsu while on duty.
In a condolence letter to Chumki Wangsu, wife of the soldier, the Governor stated on Friday that in the death of Wangsu, the people of Arunachal Pradesh have lost a brave son and the Assam Rifles have lost a valiant combatant.
"His sacrifice in the line of duty will be an inspiration for the youth of the State to emulate," he said.
"On this sad moment, I join the people of the State, particularly my Wancho brethren, in conveying my condolences to the bereaved family. We are in prayer for the eternal peace to the departed soul," the Governor added in his letter.
Wangsu died in a bomb blast in Manipur recently.
