ITANAGAR: Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF) submitted a memorandum to the Minister for Roads Transports and Highway (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari for the consideration of immediate construction of Point to Pangin Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) and initiate action to the Fact Finding Committee (FFC) report on Thursday.
Subsequently, AITF President Bengia Tolum while briefing the reporters here at Press Club on Friday informed that despite the completion of Fact Finding Committee (FFC) report and producing authentic documents related to corruption in land compensation till today there is no concrete action taken by the state government. He said the state government should have the first call for a cabinet meeting after receiving the FFC report and thereafter take actions to those individuals who have taken compensation in a false way and it should have been disclosed to the public about the amount taken by them. “Besides doing this the state government is just making an announcement that actions will be taken against those people involved just to get public applauds,” Tolum said. He asked for immediate action on the issue. He also alleged the present MLA from Yachuli constituency Likah Saaya for the illegality procured Rs 3 Crores from the DLRSO Bharat Lingu. He informed that an amount of 3 crores was drawn in his name from DLRSO Bharat Lingu which the MLA had earlier said that it was taken for personal business motive. If the MLA has taken money as in a business motive from the DLRSO then he should tell the people on what ground did he took and what kind of business is that he had to borrow from a DLRSO who is working in the TAH compensation clearance, he questioned.
“Rather, if he is not involved in the corruption he should have taken up the issue in personal strength and why he is tilled today silent on the issue. The representative is for the people and at such situation, his presence is nowhere,” he added. He also alleged the MLA of three constituencies in the TAH compensation corruption stating that, if they are not involved then why they are not starting the work at the earliest and supporting the people fighting for the cause. When questioned on the result of the FFC, Tolum informed that many of the government officers are found involved the corruption and also alleged that FFC also does not work sincerely to the responsibility given. “Accordingly the state government under the Central Civil Service rule, 1965 there should be action imitated to those civil servants involved in a scam,” he said.
