Arunachal Law Students Union president arrested by Itanagar police

ITANAGAR: The Registering Officer (RO) of Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB), John Brah has informed that the Arunachal Law Students Union (ALSU) president Yurum Tamin was arrested by the Itanagar police.

In a press statement, Brah said that the police arrested Tamin on the basis of CCTV footage of the incident and the available witnesses for scandalizing and criminally intimidating him along with his office staff of APB&OCWWB earlier.

Brah alleged that the ALSU president along with his companions created illegal interference over the functioning of a government office by seeking contract works from the department. "Despite expressing the norms and procedure to obtain a work order from the government office, Tamin started scandalizing and criminally intimidated me and the office staff without lawful justification," Brah said.

A case dated 7/9/2020 with case number 0194 U/S 448/186/352/506/34 has been registered in the Itanagar Police Station and the case is under investigation now.

Earlier on August 22, APB&OCWWB members had also filed an FIR against the ALSU president at the Itanagar Police Station for resorting to vandalism and threatening at the APB&OCWWB office here following rejection of his request for work order for skill development works in the name of one 'Bhaskar Foundation'.

Mentionably in a press conference on August 17, ALSU president Tamin had alleged that APB&OCWWB Chairman of indulging in "fraudulent activities", and sought investigation into their allegations.
