ITANAGAR: A team of state BJP led by vice president Tarh Tarak on Sarhad Yatra (border visit) to give a salute to the Armed forces in the Indo-China border, visited Kaho and Chaglagam- Taflagam, the last Indian village and border outpost under Anjaw district of the state from January 9 to 11 last.
The team conducted an interaction program with the panchayat leaders and people at Kaho, Taflagam and Chaglagam in presence of ZPM Wallong Appa Pul, Chaglagam ZPM Mailu Tega, Taflagam gaon bura Tetuso Billai and others, a party communique informed here on Thursday.
The panchayat during the interaction, sought the government's attention for the extension of the highway on priority as the Armed forces are facing lots of problems.
All the government schemes are properly implemented in the area, the team witnessed.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarak said that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the state government is giving due attention to the border villages.
Tarak also briefed the villagers on the welfare schemes for the border village being implemented by the BJP government in the state and urged them to avail various schemes for the welfare of border areas.
Tarak appreciated the state and central governments for identifying Kaho village as a model village, where all necessary infrastructure would be set up under the model village project by the government shortly.
Later, the team interacted with ITBP officials and appreciated them for their dedication and committed service to the nation.
The team was informed that there was no encroachment in border areas and peace is prevailing in the frontier.
