ITANAGAR: Taking ahead the government's agenda of boosting the economy through agriculture and horticulture, the Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has approved the 'Credit-linked schemes under Agriculture and Horticulture sector during 2021-22'.

The State Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in its sitting on Thursday approved the schemes, which would be implemented with government subsidy, bank credit and beneficiary contribution in the ratio of 45:45:10, government spokesman Bamang Felix told reporters here on Friday.

The government has earmarked an subsidy amount of Rs 60 crore against the ANKY (Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojna) in the Agriculture sector and another Rs 60 crore against the ANBY (Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana) in the Horticulture sector under the credit-linked schemes, stated Felix.

"Any farmer as well as SHGs (Self Help Groups) and FPOs (Farmer Producers Organizations) can avail of these schemes," disclosed the spokesman, adding that if any farmer avails the scheme within the range of Rs 1.6 lakh, no collatoral or bank guarantee would be required; and for the SHGs availing the scheme within or up to Rs 10 lakh, no collateral or bank guarantee would be required.

"The scheme will be distributed across the State; and the applicants will have to apply at the respective Deputy Commissioner's office in their respective districts. ''We expect that through this scheme, investments of approximately Rs 300 crore will be done in the sector. Of this, the government subsidy component will be of Rs 120 crore," disclosed Felix.

The State Cabinet also approved the move for setting up of a 100-bedded Cancer Care Home for cancer patients at Mumbai, added the spokesman.
