Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu opens weekly market at Tawang

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday inaugurated the "Weekly Market" at Woogpa-Latse in Tawang in presence of Advisor (RWD) Jambey Tashi.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday inaugurated the "Weekly Market" at Woogpa-Latse in Tawang in presence of Advisor (RWD) Jambey Tashi.

The weekly market to be opened every Sunday will provide a venue to the local farmers, artisans, craftsmen and traders to sell their local products and farm produce, Khandu said in his address.

The Chief Minister said the weekly market will benefit the farmers and also help in the revival of traditional crops and the system of agriculture.

He promised to fund the construction of a market shed with transparent sheets.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu pointed out that the market will also encourage the local people to boost their income and attain self-reliance.

More than 50 farmers, craftsmen and artisans had their stalls opened including stalls from APMC and Department of textiles & handicrafts, informed an official comminique.
