PASIGHAT: East Siang District Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu took stock on Tuesday of the developmental achievements and progress of the various ongoing central and state-sponsored schemes in the district during the District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) and monthly E-Pragati meeting held at DC Conference Hall. The DC asked for proactive efforts in expediting works on priority projects while referring to the status of the works at the State University, Arunachal Pradesh State University (APU), as the State University established by the state government is a pride of the state for creating opportunities for youth to pursue quality higher education in the state.

The DC also lauded the PHE Pasighat Division for achieving 100% saturation in providing functional household potable-tap water connections under the Har-Ghar JalJeevan Mission. He said that the District Administration is serious about the issue of city waste management, and he also suggested that Pasighat Municipal Corporation (PMC) involve NGOs in a participatory approach and efficient garbage management. Waste segregation at the household level by providing colour-coded dustbins will be the first step in this effort.

Taggu also stressed the National Social Assistance Programme and social security schemes, as well as the Agri-Horti and allied sectors, stressing that the target beneficiaries benefit from welfare schemes. The DLMC meeting, E-Pragati monthly review meeting, and pre-review meeting on the upcoming DISHA meeting in Roing were attended by Mebo ADC Sibo Passing, DPO Tatak Mibang, HoDs, and ArSLM representatives, among others.
