Arunachal Pradesh government named various institutions in memory of pioneers

The Arunachal Pradesh government has named various important public institutions across the State in the memory of former ministers and pioneers who have contributed immensely for the cause of the State.

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh government has named various important public institutions across the State in the memory of former ministers and pioneers who have contributed immensely for the cause of the State.

Accordingly, the stadium and the government polytechnic college at Namsai district have been named as 'Chow Indrajit Namchoom Outdoor Stadium' and 'C.P. Namchoom Government Polytechnic College'. Both were Ministers.

The inter-State bus terminal at Lekhi near here has been named after Nabam Runghi, who was instrumental in the establishment of the State's capital.

The district hospital at Daporijo in Upper Subansiri district has been named after Tadak Dulom who was a Cabinet Minister in various capacities.

The Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Dadam in Tirap district has been named after former Minister Tirong Aboh, who was killed in an ambush by suspected NSCN (I) militants near Khonsa on May 21 last year. Khandu tweeted, "May their legacy live on… Pleased to announce that the Government of Arunachal has named its various institutions in the memory of the pioneers. Their contribution toward Arunachal's progress shall always be remembered."
