"I am sanguine that our Tagin brethren will continue to celebrate Si Donyi every time with enhanced zeal and shall preserve and promote the sublime thoughts, values and their age-old good practices," the Governor said.
Khandu in his message said, the Tagins are one of the most exuberant tribes of the state, who have been preserving their traditional heritage with pride for ages while passing it on successfully to the next generation.
"Being one of the largest tribes of the state, our Tagin brothers and sisters have contributed immensely to the development of our state besides maintaining peace and harmony. May this joyous celebration of Si-Donyi strengthen the bond amongst all communities," the chief minister said.
Khandu expressed optimism that the festival will successfully invoke the Almighty to usher in a new era of peace and progress in the state.
While lauding the indigenous communities of the state for taking pride in their respective culture, he said the celebration of festivals such as Si-Donyi is one proven way of preserving indigenous culture for posterity.
