ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra on Monday extended warm greetings to the people of the State in general and the Aka community in particular, on the festive occasion of the Sarok, which will be celebrated on Tuesday.
Mishra expressed the hope that the festivity would invoke the blessings from all reverent deities for the well-being and prosperity of the society.
In his message, the Governor said that the Sarok festival showcases the age-old bond of the Aka community with nature and facilitates in emulating the Aka fold's traditions, cultural heritage and customs.
He said that in celebrating this festival, the community remembers its forebears who have been the embodiment of the tribe's standards.
He urged the younger generations to proudly get connected to their roots and partake in the celebrations as an enlightened part of our cultural diversity.
"On this festive occasion, I join my Aka brethren in offering prayers to invoke the spirit of almighty to protect us from the Corona pandemic and bless each one of us with good fortune and health," Mishra said in his message.
