ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra on Sunday extended his warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Parakram Diwas, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose, affectionately called 'Netaji'.

Mishra expressed the hope that the special occasion will inspire all to promote amongst all Indian citizens the great spirit of nationalism and patriotism.

In his message, the Governor said that Netaji was a great freedom fighter whose role in India's Independence has been unsurpassable.

"He was an illustrious military leader, superb combat force organizer and a celebrated battlefield motivator. Netaji was the founder of the Indian National Army and fought for the freedom of India against the colonizer British government during World War-II", he said.

Mishra added that Bose coined the most popular salutation 'Jai Hind' and his charismatic personality and powerful oratory inspired millions of Indians to join the Indian freedom struggle.

"His legacy continues to inspire us, the Indians, to preserve Netaji's legacies and our sovereignty and independence", the Governor said while appealing to the people to imbibe his 'Nation First' spirit and move forward to contribute positively to the process of nation building on the birth anniversary of Netaji.

"On this momentous occasion, I call upon all my beloved people of Arunachal Pradesh to emulate the values of Subhash Chandra Bose for realizing his dream of progressive, prosperous and Atma Nirbhar Shresth Bharat", he said in his message.
