Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik apprises PM of developmental initiatives

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday and apprised him of the developmental initiatives in the state. The governor also updated the prime minister on the progress achieved towards the settlement of border issues with neighbouring Assam and other steps being undertaken to ensure security in the insurgency-hit Tirap, Changlang, and Longding districts of the state. Parnaik conveyed the good wishes of the people of the state to Modi and apprised him of the developmental progress of the state, a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed here on Sunday. The governor, who has toured a number of border villages in the state selected under the Vibrant Villages Programme, shared his observation with the Prime Minister and said that the people in the remote border villages were immensely grateful for the support they were getting. He also briefed the Prime Minister about the developmental programmes and schemes in the state, which he had reviewed during the district tours. Parnaik said that all-weather road connectivity, strong and reliable internet connectivity, and augmentation of health and education infrastructure are the top priority areas that are being pursued by the state government. The governor also briefed the PM on the implementation of the new national education policy and other initiatives being taken for the participation of the population to make the yojanas successful. He also opined on the need for automation of data and the use of technology to enhance the monitoring and accomplishment of objectives, the communiqué added.
