ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh on Monday launched the Tika Maha Abhiyan, an initiative to vaccinate everyone above 18 years of age in the next few months.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu along with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang and others launched the Abhiyan in the State capital, official sources informed.

Pema Khandu in his official Twitter handle informed about the launch of the massive vaccination drive.

"We aim to achieve full #vaccination status of 18+ age group within few months. To intensify the vaccination campaign, launched today '#TikaMahaAbhiyan against #Covid19' at Itanagar. Thanks to PM @narendramodi Ji for his effort in accelerating vaccination drive in the country," Khandu tweeted.

The chief minister and his cabinet colleagues urged all the people to take the free jab through 353 active Covid vaccination centres (CVCs) across the state. According to health officials, public representatives, community leaders, religious leaders, NGO representatives and media persons will participate at different CVCs – both urban and rural – to motivate the beneficiaries.
