Arunachal Pradesh logs 21 fresh Covid cases

The Covid-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 66,314 on Thursday after 21 more people tested positive for the infection

ITANAGAR: The Covid-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 66,314 on Thursday after 21 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said here.

The State recorded 91 recoveries against 47 new cases on Wednesday.

The death toll remained unchanged at 296, with no new fatality recorded in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Among the new cases, seven were reported from East Siang, three from Tawang, two from the Capital Complex Region and one each from Dibang Valley, Kamle, Leparada, Lower Dibang Valley, Lower Subansiri, Namsai, Pakke Kessang, Shi Yomi and Upper Siang district respectively, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 231 active cases, while 65,787 people have recuperated from the disease thus far, including 41 on Wednesday.

The Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 37, followed by Upper Siang at 33, East Siang (20), West Kameng (16) and Lower Subansiri with 14 active cases.

A total of 12,86,257 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the State thus far, including 226 on Wednesday, Jampa added.

So far over 18.10 lakh people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the State, State Immunization Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.
