Arunachal Pradesh logs 43 more Covid-19 cases

The Covid-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 66,447 on Wednesday after 43 more people tested positive for the infection, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said here.

ITANAGAR: The Covid-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 66,447 on Wednesday after 43 more people tested positive for the infection, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said here.

The State had reported only two positive Covid-19 cases on Tuesday.

Among the new cases, 12 were reported from the Namsai district, Upper Siang (7), East Siang (5), Anjaw (4) and three each from the Capital Complex Region, Changlang and West Kameng districts, two each from Leparada and East Kameng and one each from Lohit and Pakke Kessang districts respectively, the official said. Arunachal Pradesh currently has 145 active cases, while 66,006 people recuperated from the disease thus far, including 53 on Tuesday, the SSO said. The Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 32, followed by East Siang at 23, Shi Yomi at 11 and nine each at West Kameng, Upper Siang and Tawang districts respectively.

Altogether 12,87,632 samples have been tested for the coronavirus infection in the State thus far, including 383 on Tuesday, Jampa said.

Over 18.28 lakh people have been inoculated with Covid-19 vaccines, State Immunization Officer Dr Dimong Padung said.
