Arunachal Pradesh logs 47 fresh Covid-19 cases

Single-day recoveries outnumbered fresh Covid-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday as 91 more people recuperated from the disease against 47 new infections, a senior health official said.

ITANAGAR: Single-day recoveries outnumbered fresh Covid-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday as 91 more people recuperated from the disease against 47 new infections, a senior health official said.

The State recorded 68 recoveries against 41 new cases on Tuesday. With the new cases, the Covid-19 caseload in the State rose to 66,293, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Among the new cases, 14 were reported from Upper Siang, six from the Capital Complex Region, four from Namsai and three each from East Siang, Lohit, Pakke Kessang, West Kameng and Lower Subansiri, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 251 active cases, while 65,746 people have recuperated from the disease thus far.

The Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 46, followed by Upper Siang at 32, West Kameng (21), Lower Subansiri (18) and 15 each at Leparada and East Siang districts respectively.

A total of 12,86,031 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the State thus far, including 342 on Tuesday, Jampa added.

So far over 18.10 lakh people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the State, State Immunization Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.
