Arunachal Pradesh registers 24 new Covid cases

ITANAGAR: The Covid-19 tally in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 65,337 on Monday after 24 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official informed here.

The State recorded 82 Covid-19 cases on Sunday, the highest single-day spike in July, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. Among the new cases, five were reported from the Capital Complex Region, four from Leparada, three each from Upper Siang and Lower Siang, two each from Tawang and Lohit and one each from West Kameng, Namsai, Lower Dibang Valley, Kurung Kumey and Anjaw district respectively, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 361 active cases, while 64,680 people recuperated thus far including, 26 on Sunday, he said. The recovery rate stands at 98.99 per cent, while the active rate stood at 0.55 per cent, Dr Jampa said.

The Capital Complex Region comprising, Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 85, followed by Namsai at 54 cases, Lohit (39), Upper Siang (27), Lower Subansiri (26) and East Siang with 23 cases.

A total of 12,80,622 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the State thus far, including 116 on Sunday, Jampa added.

So far over 17.78 lakh people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the State, State Immunization Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.
