Arunachal Pradesh registers 62 fresh COVID cases

The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 64,066 on Tuesday after 62 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said here.

ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 64,066 on Tuesday after 62 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said here. Of the fresh cases, 13 were reported from the Capital Complex Region, eight each were registered in Tawang and Longding, five each from East Siang, Lower Subansiri and Upper Siang and four from Lohit, the official said.

As many as 63,233 people have recuperated from the disease so far including, 152 on Monday, State Surveillance Officer (SSO), Dr Lobsang Jampa said. The death toll in the frontier state remained at 294 as no casualty was reported in the past 24 hours, the official said. Arunachal Pradesh currently has 539 active COVID-19 cases, the SSO said.

State Immunization Officer (SSO) Dr Dimong Padung said as many as 16,10,167 people have been inoculated with Covid vaccines so far. At least 65,047 beneficiaries in the age group of 15-18 years have been vaccinated and 20,879 senior citizens received the booster jab.
