Arunachal Pradesh reports 4 new COVID cases, tally at 16,882

ITANAGAR: With the detection of COVID-19 among four more persons -- including one security personnel -- in Arunachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours, the State's tally rose to 16,882, said State Surveillance Officer DrLobsangJampa.

The fresh cases were detected from the Capital Complex Region and West Kameng district respectively.

Of the fresh cases three are symptomatic and all were detected through rapid antigen tests.

A jawan of the SashastraSeemaBal (SSB), who was a returnee from Uttar Pradesh, was among the fresh cases.

The number of recoveries in the State as of now stands at 16,790.

Arunachal Pradesh has currently 36 active cases, while 56 people died due to the contagion so far. The recovery and positivity rates in the State currently stand at 99.45 per cent and 0.21 per cent respectively.

Lower Dibang Valley district has the highest number of active cases with 13, followed by Leparada and Namsai with three each, Changlang, Upper Subansiri, West Kameng and Tirap with two cases each and Lohit with one case.

Over one lakh persons have been inoculated in the State so far, informed State Immunization Officer DrDimongPadung.
