Arunachal Pradesh reports 90 new COVID cases

The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rises to 52,960, with 90 more persons testing positive for the infection, a senior health official said here on Tuesday.

ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rises to 52,960, with 90 more persons testing positive for the infection, a senior health official said here on Tuesday.

The death toll in the frontier State remained at 260, as no casualty was reported in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. The Capital Complex Region reported the highest number of new cases at 20, followed by Changlang (16), Lower Subansiri (9), Anjaw (8), six each from Lower Dibang Valley and Papumpare and four each from Pakke Kessang and East Siang, the official said.

Three fresh cases were also reported from Namsai, two each from Dibang Valley, Leparada and Longding and one each from West Siang, West Kameng, Upper Siang, Tirap, Tawang, Lower Siang, Lohit and Kamle district respectively, the SSO said. Among the fresh cases, 87 were detected through rapid antigen tests, 1 through RT-PCR and 2 through TrueNAT methods, the official said adding, 62 people have symptoms. The active cases in the State now stand at 900, the official said.
