Arunachal Pradesh reports more recoveries than fresh Covid-19 cases

ITANAGAR: The Covid-19 recoveries outnumbered fresh infections in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, with 80 more people recuperating from the disease against 58 new cases reported, a senior health official said. With the new cases, the total caseload in the northeastern state rose to 66,164, while a total of 65,501 people cured of the disease thus far.

The northeastern state on Friday reported 60 new Covid cases and 71 recoveries, the official said.

The toll remained unchanged at 296, with no new fatality recorded in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Among the new cases, 16 were reported from Namsai, six each from Lower Subansiri and the Capital Complex Region, five from Anjaw and four from West Kameng, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 367 active cases, the SSO said.

Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 71, followed by Dibang Valley at 51, West Kameng and Upper Siang with 24 cases each, Lower Subansiri (23) and East Siang district with 22 active cases.

A total of 12,84,990 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the state thus far, including 332 on Friday, Jampa added.

So far over 18.09 lakh, people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the state, State Immunisation Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.
